No compromise to be made on national interests, security: Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 9 (APP):Minister of State for Interior, Shehryar Khan Afridi on Tuesday
said that no compromise would be made on national interests and security.
He was talking to a delegation of European Union led by its ambassador on Tuesday,
a press release issued here said.
The minister said that no one would be allowed to get involved in activities against the state
and added that security of the lives and assets of Pakistani citizens would be ensured.
The minister said that the government would ensure the supremacy of law. He said Pakistan armed forces
had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terror adding that before
Afghan war Pakistan was on the path of progress.
The EU ambassador appreciated Pakistan's efforts and success in the war against terror.
Pakistan's sacrifices in war against terrorism be acknowledged: Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 3 (APP):Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, Martin Kobler Wednesday called on Minister of State for Interior,
Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed matters of mutual interests.
Talking to the ambassador, the minister said Pakistan and its people have given huge sacrifices in war against terrorism
which should be acknowledged by world. Pakistan and Germany enjoy historic relations, he said.
Pakistan is the most affected country in war against terror, he said and added the national interest is top priority of the government.
Shehryar Afridi said there would be no compromise on national interest and security and added that Pakistan has been
playing its role for peace in the world.
The minister said in this era of globalization decisions of any country affect the entire world.
Moreover, he said the government was working on Madrissa reforms so that the students of madaris can get knowledge through modern education.
He said overseas Pakistanis are assets of the country and have been playing vital role in economic development.
The German ambassador appreciated efforts of Pakistan for peace and security.
Commandant FC meets Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 4 (APP):Commandant Frontier Constabulary (FC), Moazzam Jah Ansari Thursday met with Minister of
State for Interior, Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed professional matters.
Talking to the newly appointed Commandant, the minister said FC has been playing a key role in peace and security.
He said the government was seriously considering to further strengthening the force.
Pakistan, Afghanistan to work together for well-being of people
ISLAMABAD, Oct 2 (APP):Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal Tuesday called on Minister of State for Interior
Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The minister said Pakistan and Afghanistan shared cultural and historical ties and expressed resolve that its efforts would
continue for regional peace and stability.
Afridi said Pakistan and Afghanistan would have to work together for confidence building and remove misconceptions for
well-being of people of the two countries.
"We will have to take collective decisions in national interests of the two nations," he added.
